July 29

To prepare for our Guatemala trip, the team members in Muncie went to the Dollar Tree to pick out 5 items per child.  Each team member (8 in all) had 3 children.  Due to the generous donations from my support team, I was able to pay for each team member's gifts to their forever friends.  The total bill was $161 and it was great to be able to help everyone out!  The remaining $140 will be used in Guatemala at either Dorie's Promise or the community outreach throughout Guatemala City.  While I was organizing the items for both Bob's and my friends, I misplaced the money with the entire $300 in a white bank envelope.  We searched the entire store, and I backtracked down the store fronts back to my Jeep parked a few hundred yards away but to no avail.  My first test of faith came at this moment and much prayer and stress ruled my mindset.  Nick, our co-leader on this trip, after others had already asked the clerks with no luck, found the money on a glass shelf where I was previously organizing the items for my children.  I have a feeling that I'll be needing to throw myself at God's will and work as this feels like a fitting prelude to my first out of the country and mission trip.
